we had our first intramural soccer game tonight. we lost.

it's ok though because soccer team mom jamie brought us postgame cupcakes.

just another manic monday.

tuesday morning i work up after a beautifully long weekend thinking that it was monday. mondays are my long days. i hadn't done enough homework over the weekend because i was having too much fun, so i thought that i would be starting the week off wrong. i woke up around 5:45 a.m. to finish a paper and got ready to go to my 8 a.m. class. i checked my calendar only to find that it was tuesday, my 8 a.m. class had been furloughed and i didn't have work until noon instead of 10 a.m. like i thought.

tuesday was a great day.

wednesday hasn't been half bad either. it's been rainy so i've tried to stay indoors as much as possible to keep from getting wet. i love cozy, rainy days.

easy as a sunday morning.

today robbie and i headed to santa barbara today for an adventure.

we stopped at starbucks in santa maria and saw this crazy coloring book.

when we go to santa barbara, we found a cafe to grab lunch and watch the chargers game. robbie watched. i ate.

took a walk on the pier...

wanted to go in an art gallery but it was closed.

so we went to an antique shop next door. i'm definitely going back there. this little owl guy reminded me of page.

went for a drive and got a little lost. this sign was in someone's private driveway. super cute snail.

robbie took me to a lake and on the way there we drove into misty mountains. we felt like we were going to jurassic park.

we had to hike down a muddy hill to get to the lake. so outdoorsy.

a fishing pier... i had a really hard time understanding why it was so steep and robbie had to explain to me that the water level was low, otherwise the pier would be level with the regular water level... i felt like an idiot.

happy 2010! new years eve was spent with all of the right people.

after working at the golf course, i headed to seal beach with morgan to meet bretty, robbie, lisa, kris and kimbers for some sushi and saki bombs with waiter matt (pictures to come, i promise). once our late night dinner was done, we headed to clancy's to ring in the new year. the countdown was a little anticlimactic, but we still had a good time. morgan and i went for a little jog on the pier and robbie and i jumped in the water at about 1 a.m. it was a very bad, cold idea.

the first day of 2010 started off with all of us feeling pretty sick and eating mexican food. everyone left lisa and kris's and robbie and i started an adventure.

we stopped in sunset beach in the afternoon because the houses were so pretty. we found this semi-private beach that had been raked so the sand was extremely soft.

then we headed to huntington to shop, eat pizza and walk on the pier. it was a really nice day.

i have this theory about even and odd years. i think that odd years are bad luck and even ones are good. thank goodness it's 2010; i'm hoping some good luck will come my way.
